The latest on the Family of Jon & Kate plus 8 is that on Friday, the Department of Labor confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine if the hit Jon & Kate Plus 8 is violating child labor laws after receiving a complaint against the show.
You know with all the drama surrounding Jon & Kate of course at some point someone would go file a complaint. I would only take into consideration the complaint if it came from the kids Teacher’s or Pediatrician. These kids are not working, TLC is there filming their everyday life. Its a Reality TV Show. Therefore, there are no lines to memorize and they get to go to bed as their own schedule dictates. I wonder if anyone filed a complaint against the show “18 and Counting” the “Duggars”. Not that they should, but they have even more kids and how many hours are they working? Please….
As for Jon & Kate, come one! From the beginning we all saw that Kate has NO, None, NADA of respect for Jon. Jon has no backbone and allowed Kate to boss him around. The MEDIA is NOT responsible at all for their troubles. Please! Kate is a drill Sargent and Jon was just a kid in love. To me it seems that now they have some decent pocket money and going their separate ways is looking even better.
Oh and before I forget…. What is wrong with Jon & Kate charging fans for autographs?? Its is because of us that they have a hit show and a Best Selling Book. Perhaps we the FANS should teach them a lesson and boycott the show and books. Let’s see if Kate does not get on camera then an apologize to the fans for not being appreciative.
Now back to the story 
According to DOL:
“We’re not saying that they are not complying with child labor laws. We’re investigating a complaint,” Troy Thompson of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor tells Usmagazine.com. “We’re not saying that there was or was not a violation, just that we’re conducting an investigation.”
Without knowing the facts stated on the complaint its hard to tell how the DOL will decide. However, if its only based on the fact the kids are on TV because their day to day life 3 days out of the week is being filmed. I doubt that it will have an affect on them. You can check the Child Labor Laws regarding Kids Actors. I have not read anything about Kids Reality TV stars. Because an actor is a person skilled in an art. Therefore, their might not be anything there about Kids Reality TV stars.Wow, I wonder what the Octomom Kids would be facing. They have been working from day one………
