Felipe da a Iluminada los resultados de los estudios de laboratorio que se le hicieron a la ropa de Rosendo. Felipe le explica que la sangre encontrada es humana.
El padre Ventura ayuda a que Ernesto, Gaby e Isabel hablen con la gente del pueblo en su misa para hacer que los niños asistan a la escuela. El pueblo no les cree y empiezan a gritar y hacer desorden, piensan que les están mintiendo. Valentina aparece para hablar con ellos, les pide que no desaprovechen la oportunidad que les da, les pide perdón si alguna vez fue injusta y les dice que le llaman ‘la víbora’ porque impide que sus hijos trabajen para tener un futuro mejor. Argumenta que si no los dejan ir a la escuela el daño no se lo harían a ella, sino al bien más preciado que tienen: sus hijos.
Rosendo va a solicitarle a Leonor el puesto de capataz de la hacienda Montesinos.
José Miguel insiste en buscar a Arcelia, llega a su casa y toca la puerta, ella lo corre, pero José Miguel dice que no se irá hasta hablar con ella.
José Miguel encuentra el reloj del padre de Valentina en casa de Arcelia, le pregunta quién se lo dio y afirma que a la única persona que puede conocer en San Pedro es a Leonor.
